The Boston College application deadline is November 1 for Early Decision I (ED I) and January 4 for both Early Decision II (ED II) and Regular Decision (RD). Transfer applicants and financial aid filers follow their own calendars, and a missed date on either one can cost you a seat or part of your aid package.

This guide lists every date for the 2026-2027 cycle. The dates that apply to you depends on your application route and your aid needs, so read each section with your own plans in mind.

When Is the Boston College Application Deadline?

Boston College offers three routes for first-year applicants, and each one closes on its own date.

Application Route Deadline
Early Decision I November 1, 2026
Early Decision II January 4, 2027
Regular Decision January 4, 2027

These dates apply to first-year applicants entering in the fall. Transfer and financial aid deadlines run on separate schedules, which later sections cover.

Boston College Early Decision Deadlines

Boston College runs two ED rounds. The ED I deadline is November 1, 2026, while ED II closes January 4, 2027. The Common App opens August 1, 2026, so you have three months to finish before ED I closes.

Both rounds are binding. If Boston College admits you, you agree to enroll, and you must pay an Enrollment Confirmation Fee within 10 days of the offer. Since the commitment is firm, ED fits best when Boston College is your clear first choice and you have weighed its aid against what other schools might offer.

If you already filed for RD and want to change course, you can convert your application to ED II by emailing the Office of Undergraduate Admission by January 8.

Boston College Regular Decision Deadline

The Boston College RD deadline is January 4, 2027, the same day ED II closes.

RD is non-binding, so you can apply to any other school in any round. The later date helps if you want to raise your fall grades, retake the SAT or ACT, or keep refining your essays.

A spring option also exists. First-year applicants who prefer a January start can apply by November 1, with no binding commitment. Human-Centered Engineering and Nursing applicants cannot use this route.
