California State Summer School for Math and Science (COSMOS) is a four-week program for high school students at the University of California, Irvine. It gives students a chance to experience living on campus and learn about science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) subjects. If you get picked for COSMOS, you get to stay in the dorms for the whole four weeks.
The California legislature started this program to help kids in the state get more interested in STEM subjects for future jobs. COSMOS looks for students who do well in school. SAMS Scholars dive into a tough set of classes led by famous teachers who want students to excel. The program helps students learn more about STEM subjects, not just in regular classes but also through projects where they get to use their hands and work closely with top-notch teachers and experienced mentors. Besides all the academic stuff, students can also team up and make good friends with other students from all over the country.
During the program, students will take part in quantitative and computational skill seminars covering math, science, and STEM-related projects guided by STEM faculty or graduate students. There will also be writing workshops specifically geared towards getting ready for college applications. Students will join workshops, connect with alumni and current students, meet university leaders, and complete STEM projects. Additionally, students will be part of small mentoring groups led by the Center for Student Diversity & Inclusion.

The Immersion Geometry Program is like a fast-track course that covers a whole year of geometry in one summer. Students quickly learn the basics of Euclidean geometry and see how these ideas work in everyday situations. The course also brings in algebra to help students get better at solving problems. In the program, students will learn to make guesses, test ideas, and eventually create formal proofs using both paragraph and two-column formats.
To fit everything into the summer, students have a full day of classes and are recommended not to sign up for any other in-person classes during that time. The program by itself is an ideal training ground for collegiate-level mathematics and the experience you gain from here can boost your application for college admissions.

The main aim isn’t to make award-winning projects (though that often happens), but to offer chances to learn more about intellectual work in science and math and to build new, hopefully long-lasting, friendships.
HSHSP alumni got awards for their research in competitions and got their work published. They all moved on to college, going to places like Harvard, MIT, Stanford, Cal Tech, Brown, Yale, Columbia, Princeton, Cornell, Dartmouth, Michigan State University, the University of Michigan, Duke, the University of Pennsylvania, Carnegie Mellon, UNC, and many more. Most of them studied science or something related, and a lot of them continued to graduate school or professional schools.

The Michigan Math and Science Scholars program is made for high school students to get a taste of college before actually going. It shows them different subjects at the University of Michigan and talks about the latest stuff happening in science. Any high school student going into their sophomore, junior, or senior year, no matter where they’re from, can join! Three sessions last for two weeks each, and students can choose to go to one, two, or all three sessions.
The MMSS program helps high school students transition to university life. Students get to use top-notch labs, classrooms, and technology at the University of Michigan while learning from their faculty, graduate students, and advanced undergraduates. They also get the chance to learn about cool research in math and science with up-to-date information.

The Summer Mathematics Program for High School Students at the University of Utah is a chance for really good students to grow their skills. Students who join get three university credits in math (graded as credit/no credit), but they need to be able to be there for the whole program.

Since 1993, the LRSM has been running a free PSSI four-week summer program for local high school students who are interested in materials science and engineering. Usually, about 24-28 students, mostly juniors but sometimes well-qualified sophomores, get accepted.
The program includes lectures about materials, a computer lab, hands-on experiments, and visits to both industrial and Penn facilities. Students come from schools in and around Philadelphia that are easy to get to from the LRSM. They want students from under-represented groups in science, especially those from the School District of Philadelphia, women, minorities, and students with disabilities, to apply.
