Selecting Courses for SCIP

As a SCIP student, you have the option to choose 1 to 2 approved courses during Session A6. However, it’s essential to make sure these courses don’t have any schedule conflicts with the program’s mandatory activities, which take place from 3:30 to 4:30 pm on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.

It’s your responsibility to double-check that the courses you want to enroll in are approved, available, and don’t overlap with the SCIP program’s mandatory sessions. Some of the courses on the list might already be full or have a waitlist.

If you’re interested in taking an online course from the provided list, you must also enroll in a second course that is approved and in-person. If you prefer to take only one course, it must be in person.

Specific courses might have a lecture (Lec) component online and a discussion or lab (Dis/Lab) in person, or it could be the other way around. In such cases, enroll in the discussion/lab part first, as that will automatically enroll you in the lecture portion.

For international students in SCIP+ who require a visa, it’s necessary to enroll in at least 6 in-person Session A6 courses to meet the eligibility requirements for an F-1 visa, which is required for studying in the United States.
